Professional Chef with 20 years of critically acclaimed culinary experience gained at Hilton and Marriott Companies, mastered it to perfection to become a well known owner and chef of one of the most successful restaurants in Downtown Hollywood, Fl April 2014-May 2023. Expert in Middle-Eastern and Classic European Cuisines.
BIO:
Born and raised in Qualyubia near Cairo, Egypt, Chef Shabo enjoyed helping his mother to cook meals from freshly harvested ingredients from family farm since childhood.
Inspired by father-chef, he successfully graduated from the Cairo Hilton Culinary School, where he mastered courses in Garde Manger, Butchery, Saucier Kitchen, Soups and Ragoût cooking, Banquets, and Pastry.
Worked as a Chef de Partie at the Cairo Marriott in Egypt.
In 2009, moved to the US and worked as a kitchen supervisor at the Marriott Resort & Spa in Marco Island, FL (now JW Marriott Marco Island).
In 2012, relocated to the East coast of Florida to work as an executive chef in a kosher restaurant.
April 2014 to May 2023 – executive chef and owner of “Shabo’s Mediterranean Barbecue” featuring a unique concept of American-Mediterranean Fusion. This concept was inspired by the combination of flavorful Arabic cuisine Chef Shabo was raised on and his passion for American country kitchen that he mastered while working for Marriott Corp.
In June 2023, successfully sold “Shabo’s Barbecue” and moved back to beloved Southwest Florida.
November 2023, opened his new restaurant in Naples, FL “Shabo’s Bistro” featuring contemporary American Cuisine with delightful Mediterranean twist.

2010 – won Iron chef competition in Marco Island Marriott
Grew “Shabo’s” restaurant to one of top 10 restaurants in Hollywood, FL, achieving top rates in social media such as yelp (500+ reviews 4.5*), google (900+ reviews 4.5*), facebook (160+ reviews 4.8*).
His cooking classes attended more than 50 kids and more than 100 adults.
